Alluring: "To attract by something flattering or desirable"
Abode: "residence, dwelling, habitation, home"

Hello and welcome to my new excursion!
I am so excited to announce that I will be a hosting a "link up party" here every Friday!

The theme is "Homes" (Alluring Abodes to be exact!)
I have a fond appreciation for abodes and I have seen so many cool places that I want to photograph. Thus, this little challenge was born!

A few rules:
1.)PLEASE participate, it will be so much more fun; if you too take pictures of homes you find intriguing
2.)Please respect the privacy of the owners of the abode. If you do not personally know the person or have permission, please ensure all "clues" to the location of the abode (i.e. address, street names) are kept under wraps.
3.) If you DO have permission, please feel free to take pictures of rooms inside, as well as the exterior, be as creative as you can!!
4.) You do NOT have to be the person to take pictures, you are welcome to search homes online that strike your fancy and post the pics, just give credit where it's due!
5.)Have FUN!

& MOST Important

6.)Please don't forget to pass the link on!! The more the merrier!

So, let's get this party started!
I will openly admit, I photographed not one, but THREE abodes today. Yup...overzealous at it's finest!
I will not be posting three homes however, I have a personal rule that I would like to dedicate each week to ONE home that I find intriguing. Which home to choose? Which home to choose?
Ah, yes, the home I grew up in! This is my childhood home. I moved here when I was 4 years old and lived there until 6 years ago when we moved to our current home. This home is special to me because my father was in construction and he built the home from the basement up! I fondly remember going to check the progress of the home, I can still picture the guys lifting the front wall up on the count of "three" and that we had a ladder placed at my bedroom doorway before there was a hallway or staircase.

I spent countless hours designing floor plans when I was a child and I distinctly remember drawing a plan for the "same home; only better" I added more stairs to the sunken family room and half walls where there was open space. Funfun!

Ok, so here it is, my previous "abode"

I took a lot of pictures today and to be honest, I am not particularly happy with any of them! :/
Photography frustration, lack of sun, sick of winter? All of the above? Yes!

So, I chose to put up a picture I have of a door. This house has an "ornament" above the front door that always catches my eye. For weeks now, I have thought it looks like a peacock of some sort. I zoomed in today and was sort of disappointed to find a fruit arrangement? Is that a pineapple in the middle? Well...to each their own I guess! It looks cool from a distance!

Alluring Abodes starting Friday!!!

I've decided it's time to host a photo challenge each week. I have a keen love for houses. I adore the little charming details on homes and often times find myself wondering what it would be like to live in a home that is so attractive. I am envious of homes that are well put together, with exciting features that show the owners have a true knack for making their residence ooze curb appeal!

The challenge link ups will take place on Fridays. I am working hard to get it organized to begin THIS week.

If you would like, you are free to get to work finding an "abode that is alluring", snap a picture of it and post it on your blog. If there is no link up come Friday; feel free to put the link in my comments section so I can see!

I will iron out the details; I promise! Until then, please bear with me!

I am still pretty over zealous with my photography. I could snap all day and that just won't do if I am trying to draw this project out through the year. Yesterday I was in a brainstorming sort of mood. I decided to jot down ideas for "themes" in my pictures. Basically I made a list of things I have seen that I would love snap snap snap away on, but will be taking it one "topic" at a time.
Today is a fence I see on the way home from taking my daughter to school. I take the "scenic route" home since the drive is a good 25 minutes one way and I prefer to look at beauty when in the car.

Photography is proving to be what it takes to get me out of my comfort zones! Twice now during this project I have done something super embarrassing to get a picture!
Today it was pulling into some random person's driveway and walking onto their porch to get a picture of these rocking chairs. I am happy that I did! Looks so peaceful, and reminds me of warmer weather, which is what I really need right now in the thick of winter!

And two others:

I got a pedicure today. I have an appointment to see a podiatrist for cysts on my foot and I wanted my feet to look pretty, instead of dreadful! Flip flops in winter, fashion statement of the century! LOL!

I've been inspired by benches lately, don't be surprised if I take more pics of them in the near future!

Acilia and her cousin Ali are 6 months apart and pretty much inseperable. They've spent the whole weekend together, slept at Ali's Friday night, and then Ali stayed here last night :)
What a blessing to have close cousins!

"Walk on the bridge"

I had so much fun today! Taking the pics AND editing them!! Enjoy!

Illinois prairie path

After I amped up the contrast, I was delighted to see the icicles on the top of the bridge!

Ultimate coolness! I poured some honey on a spoon for my daughter, and it was the end of it, so a bunch of bubbles came out!
Acilia was pretty entertained by it too :)
This is a window display at "Katy's Boutique" in Glen Ellyn Illinois. The ladies caught me taking pictures and asked me to come in before the store opened. They thought I wanted to look at the dresses! I was so embarressed that I was "caught" taking pics but the ladies were super nice!

I cut out some of the glare on the mirror with orchid, was such a cool display!

P.S. If I may say, this is my favorite post so far in this project. Would you mind sharing which your's is so far?
